Cascade is a hanging floppy book form. At one point I tried a Jacob's ladder form, but it was too linear, restricted, I wanted more a waterfall feeling, you can see the total form, but you cannot see all of the elements individually. I wanted to randomize the viewing of the elements within a dynamic form. Gravity determines the various ways the form can be pinned and held in place. At first, I wanted something that could be viewed horizontally, but the sense of the waves of shells did not convey. It works as as private hand held piece, but I wanted something that could be viewed in an open gallery setting (faculty show), without encouraging a lot of handling.
